By integrating Acall with GoogleChat, visitor notifications on Acall Reception can send to Google Chat. This page explains how to integrate with Google Chat.
Google Chat settings
Create Acall space in Google Chat
ATTENTION
This work is completed by Google Account administrator.
Launch Google Chat.
Click Chat room.
Click [ + ] in the Chat room.
Click [Create Space].
Enter a Space Name (optional) and click [Create].
Generate a Webhook URL
Click [ ▼ ] on the space name at the top of the screen, then click [Apps & integrations].
Click [Manage webhooks].
Enter followings below in each field and click [Save].
Name: Acall BOT
Avatar URL: https://bit.ly/3YJl54Z
A Webhook URL will be generated. Click [] and copy the URL.
Continue to "Acall Portal Settings" below.
Acall Portal settings
Connect with Google Chat
Log in to Acall Portal as a worker account with administrative permission.
Click [Integrations] > [Chat] on the side menu.
Click [CONNECT] for "Google Chat".
Click [CONNECT].
Select the administrator account and click [Allow].
Click [SET WEBHOOKURL].
Set the Webhook URL copied in "Generate Webhook URL" section into "Webhook URL" and click [SAVE].
Once the integration has completed, the screen below will be displayed.
This is is the end for setting up of connection with Google Chat.
- If you want to send direct notifications to individual workers , go to "Setting UP Webhook URLs for Workers".
- If you want to send group notifications to a space, go to "Setting Up Webhook URLs for Groups".
- If you want to send notifications to the spaces you created above only, go to the "Notification Method Settings on Acall Reception " setting and select "Group".
Set up Webhook URLs for workers
Preparation
Create a new space for direct notifications in Google Chat, generate and copy a Webhook URL.
You make users who you want to send direct notifications only belong into this space.
Log in to Acall Portal and click [Organization] > [Workers] > [Edit] icon (pencil mark) on the worker you want to edit on the side menu.
Enter your Google Workspace account (email address) in the "Google Workspace Account" field.
In the "Google Chat Webhook URL" field, paste the Webhook URL generated in the preparation step, and click [UPDATE].
Please refer to [Import Batch], if you want to register workers in a batch.
Please refer to [Register / Edit / Delete Workers], if workers want to register themselves.
Set up Webhook URLs for groups
Preparation
Generate and copy the Webhook URL in a newly created or existing space in Google Chat.
Log in to Acall Portal as a worker account with administrative permission and click [Organization] > [Groups].
Click [Edit] icon (pencil mark) on the group to which you want to send notifications for opening the edit screen.
Paste the Webhook URL you generated in the preparation step in the "GoogleChat Webhook URL" field, and click [CREATE].
Notification method settings on Acall Reception
Click [App settings] > [Acall Reception] on the side menu of Acall Portal.
Click [Edit] icon (pencil mark) of the device you want to set up for opening the edit screen.
Select the actions for each menu and click [DIRECT] or [GROUP] for notifications.
When selecting the [Custom Notification] in action, select the worker you want to send notifications for [DIRECT] and the group you want to send notifications for [GROUP].
When your input is complete, click [UPDATE].

Illustrative example
This section explains the illustrative example of direct notifications with an example which a guest who have appointment visit person in charge.
Example of Acall Reception Settings:
・Setting Additional function: Response function ON
・Menu Structure: As shown in the figure below
Tap "For those have an appointment" on Acall Reception.
Select the person in charge.
A confirmation screen will be displayed, and then tap [Next].
The selected person will be notified.
The person in charge will be notified in the space for Google Chat Direct notifications. Click [I'm going].
Response options will be displayed in the contact person's browser.
The selected response will be displayed.
The response result will be displayed on Acall Reception.
