Spot permission for hierarchical groups
Example 1: Spot permission is granted only to the parent group
If spot permission is granted to the parent group, its child groups will have the same permission.
In the following example, "User" permission is granted to 'Administrative Department', but no permission is granted to the child groups 'First Administrative Division' and 'Second Administrative Division'.
In this case, worker A who belongs to 'Second Administrative Division', has "User" permission same as the parent group 'Administrative Department'.
To sum up, if you want to grant the same spot permission to all groups under a parent group, just grant permission to the parent group, same permission will be granted to the child groups.
Example 2: Parent group and child groups have different permission
If different spot permission is granted to the parent and child groups, both type of permission will be applied.
💡 NOTE
When multiple permission is added to one worker or a group, what you can do with those permission is increase as its added up.
In the following example, "User" permission is granted to 'Administrative Department', "Read-only Staff" permission is granted to 'Second Administrative Division'.
In this case, worker A has both "User" permission that is granted to the parent group and "Read-only Staff" permission that is granted to the child group 'Second Administrative Division'.
Since the "User" permission has more access, this means worker A has the same access as "User" permission.
If you want to grant "User" permission to 'First Administrative Division' and "Read-only Staff" permission to 'Second Administrative Division', permission setting will be as follows.
Example 3: A worker belongs to multiple groups
If a worker belongs to multiple groups and each group has different permission, both type of permission will be applied.
In the following example, worker A belongs to both 'General Affairs Department' and 'Administrative Department'. And "User" permission is granted to 'General Affairs Department', and "Read-only Staff" permission is granted to 'Administrative Department'.
In this case, worker A has both "User" permission that is granted to 'General Affairs Department' and "Read-only Staff" permission that is granted to 'Administrative Department'.
Since the "User" permission has more access, this means worker A has the same access as "User" permission.
